Howdy, fellas! Abhishek Sharma just smashed 135 off 54 balls against England—dream bazball-style hitting against Baz’s team.
When did he get this good?
I still remember his debut for SRH. The talent was clear—he could clear the ropes with ease. But consistency? That was missing. His first few seasons were underwhelming, yet, to my surprise, SRH stuck with him.
Turns out, they saw something most of us didn’t. The guidance of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara has unlocked his full potential.
All the young players who make it to the top are there for the talent. Those who become great players understand passion when professionalism creates the pathway to success.
The Shift is based on a simple principle: Perception vs. Perspective
- Perception is how we interpret the world.
- Perspective is how we view it.
Young cricketers step onto the IPL stage with their own perceptions of success. But reality hits fast, and they struggle Until they change their perceptions to gain perspective.
Repetition is one way to change your perception. Doing hard, repetitive training and drills even when you don’t see any results initially.
At first, it’s all about skills—batting, timing, footwork. But the ones who truly make it? They train differently. They think differently.
It’s not about changing your style or adopting someone else’s (I often try Dale Steyn bowling action, well my shoulder hurts to date)
But understanding different approaches to customise our own process, strategy and style.
They learn that talent alone isn’t enough. The real game is consistency, discipline, and mindset.
The Right Strategy Makes the Difference. Because Strategy isn’t just for cricket. It’s a way of life. The more you practice it daily, the more natural it feels when you need it the most.
Abhishek Sharma didn’t become great overnight. It took five years of grinding, failing, and learning.
We love to talk about prodigies and instant success. But the truth? Every success story is built on years of unseen work.
I’d rather fight my way to success than achieve instant greatness, only to face failure alone later.
If you like the above notion, do share it with your mates. I will appreciate your hard work.
