Hats off to black caps
A weekend full of drama and action on & off the cricket field.

Tuesday sucks less than Monday, but it still sucks. Today’s editions will make your today less sucky and more wholesome. Snuggle under your sheets and read it.
Don’t mess with Patty Cummins

Is he the best finisher today? Australia were in trouble 155/7 at the MCG chasing 204 against a fierce Pakistan pace attack, but Pat Cummins 32* led them to victory. If confidence had a face, it’d be his. He’s unshakable in the fight and often prevails.
As captain, Pat skips flashy claims and lets his intent and legacy speak. With a sharp focus on tactics, he challenges rivals with charm and humour.

Battle of Finesse vs Power feat Shai Hope and Liam Livingstone

For those who may not know, the Windies and England are battling in an ODI series in the Caribbean, with the Windies winning the first match.
In the second game, both captains stepped up. Shai Hope, one of the best ODI batters, scored his 17th century 117(127), proving he’s the shining star in the Windies lineup. He has been best in this format for such a long time without much recognition.
But the day belonged to power-packed Liam Livingstone 124*(85) — a reminder not to overanalyze players like him. Consistency and impact don’t always go hand in hand.
This tweet from Cricket analyst benjonescricket: “Liam Livingstone has played 32 ODIs & 50 T20Is. In ODIs, averages 35 at a 111 SR. In T20Is, averages 26 at a 151 SR. Nobody to play that many games can trump him across all four of those metrics. He has more to give. But he's been WAY better than his critics suggest.”
